BRIEF HISTORY BACKGROUND

It has been a long dream of the College President to establish a college in Palawan responsive to the needs of the community and to provide quality education in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering, Business and Education. This dream was fulfilled when a two-story building was erected at Barangay San Jose, Puerto Princesa City on a parcel of land, a portion of an eleven-hectare land owned also by the College President. The building was started June 5, 1997 and was inaugurated on June 1, 1998 with no on other than the Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education as the Guest Speaker, Chairman Angel Alcala.

The College was also registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 5, 1997. It was formally opened on its first day of classes, June 8, 1998, with the following courses offered on its enrollment.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Bachelor of Science in Education

topVISION

The word Fullbright is an adaptation from the name “Fulbright” of the Fulbright Exchange Program, a scholarship founded by the United States government for students, researchers and professors all over the world. The ultimate objective of the program is to promote research and development and foster international understanding. Founded by US Senator James William Fulbright in 1946, the program became popular among Asians for decades and even now that Fulbright is no longer senator, the Fulbright scholarships are still going strong.

This inspired President Eustacio Q. Edualino in naming our centennial college in Palawan “Fullbright College”. Like the vision of Senator Fulbright, the mission of the Fullbright College is to promote research and development and offer quality education to students in Palawan and nearby provinces. The ultimate aim of the college is to produce strong, competent and marketable graduates who will man the province’s and country’s workforce in the near future.

The college also aims to make quality education available to the poor in the form of scholarships which can easily be met in addition to a tuition fee scheme which is reasonable and accessible to many. All this in spite of the new state-of-art equipment and the modern curriculum that the college offers. Add new Computer and Science Laboratories, commodious classrooms, a modern computer-oriented library and a dedicated and competent faculty, and you have an institutional mix, which is difficult to match here in Palawan and throughout the Philippines.

MISSION

Fullbright College is committed to provide quality education in the fields of education, computer science, engineering and trade and industry, with the lesser expenses on the part of the parents and students.

The college seeks to train a new breed of leaders in the community that will effect social, moral and economic changes to bring forth a better quality of life to the people of Palawan.
