Computer Engineering is a broad-based field, incorporating concepts from both electrical engineering and computer science, focusing on the architecture, programming, and application of digital computers. The most successful computing professionals are those who understand computers as systems - not just the design of hardware or software, but also the relationships and interdependencies between them and the underlying mathematical foundations of computation. Computer Engineering courses address the concepts and methodologies needed for the design, analysis, interfacing, and utilization of hardware and software digital systems. Possible careers in Computer Engineering reflect the diversity of the program, ranging from academia, research, industry, government, private and business organizations -- analyzing problems for solutions, formulating and testing, using advanced communications or multi-media equipment, or working in teams for product development.
